Common Questions

What are the benefits of therapy?
Therapy offers a supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. It can help you gain clarity, learn coping strategies, improve communication, increase self-awareness, and work through past experiences or current challenges. Over time, therapy can lead to meaningful personal growth and a greater sense of well-being.

Are there any risks to therapy?
Yes, it’s important to know that therapy can sometimes feel emotionally challenging. You may experience uncomfortable emotions or notice that things feel more difficult before they begin to improve. This is a normal part of the therapeutic process, as deep work can bring underlying issues to the surface. I’m here to support you through those periods and help you navigate them safely.

What are the limits of confidentiality?
Your privacy is very important, and everything we discuss in therapy is confidential with a few exceptions as required by law. I am mandated to break confidentiality if:

  • You are at imminent risk of harming yourself or someone else

  • There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult

  • I am ordered by a court to release information

Do you accept insurance?

I am not accepting new insurance pay clients. Many clients find that private pay therapy offers greater privacy, flexibility, and control over their treatment. Insurance companies often require a diagnosis and may place limitations on the number of sessions or the types of issues covered. With private pay, insurance companies don’t have a say and your treatment is tailored entirely to your needs. Nothing is shared with insurance companies unless you chose to file for out of network benefits.

How much does therapy cost?
Sessions are $175 for a standard 55-minute appointment. Payment is due at the time of the session and is billed to the card you have on file.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted forms of payment are Venmo, Credit / Debit Card, and Flexible Spending Account (debit card).

How long do sessions last?
Each session is 55 minutes long.

Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, I offer therapy exclusively online. Teletherapy offers convenience and flexibility—allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home, or anyplace in the state of North Carolina, without the need for commuting or taking time off work. It’s an effective and accessible option for many people.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee, as that time has been reserved for you.
